The Mirror: 
  1. 1. It is owned by the Parent company- Reach PLC 
  1. 2.Reach PLC fund the mirror, as well as other UK newspapers, however the Mirror are also funded by advertising, sponserships and partnerships. 
  1. 3.They support left wing views (labour), and their value is reporting news accurately and with vigour. 
  1. 4.Their brand statement is to make sense of a rapidly changing world for readers and challenge wrongs where they see them, and to entertain. 
  1. 5.Their audience is male and females from 18-34 who are mainly working-class people. They have also targeted their paper and people who ‘like a laugh in the morning’. 
  1. 6.The mirror is a red top, daily, tabloid newspaper, with a circulation of 463,256 (October 2019). 
The Sun: 
  1. 1.It is owned by News UK 
  1. Rupert Murdochs News UK group funds the Sun and is a private ownership. 
  1. 2.The Sun has endorsed the election manifestos of both the Labour Party and Conservative Party at different points in its long history. At the most recent General Election, held in 2017, The Sun endorsed the Conservative Party. Its values are to strive to the very highest standards of accuracy in its reporting 
  1. 3.The sun’s brand statement is “forward with the people” as that’s what they believe in and they care about the quality of life and the world we live in. 
  1. 4.Their target audience is C2DE group of 15+ for both men and women. They also target ordinary working people who want to build better lives for themselves. 
  1. 5.It is a red top tabloid newspaper with a circulation of 1,240,959 (September 2019)  
The Times: 
  1. 1.They are also owned by News UK 
  1. 2.It is privately owned by News UK who fund the Times 
  1. 3.The times supports the conservative part however in 2005 they had supported the labour party. Its values are to publish news that covers every plate including politics, sport etc. 
  1. 4.The times’ brand statement is to record the principal occurrences of the times for the service of the public 
  1. 5.It targets ABC1 readers 25-44 year olds who are mainly middle class who read high quality papers. 
  1. 6.It’s a daily broadsheet paper (black top) with a daily circulation of 417,298 
The Metro: 
  1. 1.It is owned by DMG media 
  1. 2.The metro paper itself is free to buy but DMG also own papers which are paid for, in order to fund the metro. 
  1. 3.It has a neutral political stance and so doesn’t support any political parties. Its value is producing stories people need to know about (from breaking news to the biggest sport stories) at a free cost 
  1. 4.Its brand statement is We hope we are constantly inspiring them with affordable and fascinating places to go and things to do.” 
  1. 5.Its target audience has a wide range but its mainly ABC1 adults (18-44) who are in full time employment. 
  1. 6.It is a freesheet newspaper that is found at train stations, community places etc. It is a tabloid newspaper.
