Introduction- LFTVD question 3
' The differences in the codes and conventions of long form television drama's reflect the different values, attitudes and beliefs of the audiences that consume them' How far do you agree with this statement?
The different codes and conventions in long form television dramas do reflect the audiences values, attitudes and beliefs when they consume them because the media producers must create a product that appeals to their target audience in the mass LFTVD industry, whether its created for a global mass audience, or a smaller national niche audience, it needs to connect with the audience to be able to make the product successful. Mass, global companies like Netflix, need to appeal to their world wide audiences and their values, attitudes and beliefs, by using their codes and conventions in their media products. Conversely, DR has a much niche, regional audience where they should appeal to their Nordic audience to reflect Denmark's nation, using their codes and conventions differently. Therefore, the achievements of Netflix and DR will differ to be able to appeal to their target audience and reflect their own codes and conventions.
